You can't jinx it at this point. Oregon, Washington, and California are all pretty much locks for Obama -- That's 72 electoral votes. Obama's got it, it's just by how much.

I can't believe it either!!! Amazing.

I know, I know! I know it all adds up. But I keep thinking something's going to happen! Alien invasion, some kind of massive cheating, martial law...[shudder]

Back when I was just out of college, supervising the floor staff at the faculty club there, I had a conversation with some of the waitstaff--which would be first, a woman president, or a black president? And I wasn't sure, myself, which would come first. And one waiter, who was black, said she thought it would be a white woman, and I said "You might be right." But we both agreed it would be a long, long time. Myself, I was thinking maybe fifty more years.

Well, the big thing I'm afraid of how much damage Bush can do in the next 77 days. It's a shame that Obama's going to have to walk into such a mess.

In any case, I'm floored that we're about to have our first black president. And not just a black president, but a black president named Barack Hussein Obama after 8+ years of concerted Republican anti-Muslim terror propoganda. THAT IS SURREAL.

I was afraid to jinx it last night. When "Marta von Trapp" asked me at Sound of Music rehearsal whom I'd voted for, I wouldn't tell her. But I will tell her tonight.
