Sold!
Just received word that Realms of Fantasy wants "The Unknown God."

Yes, another gods story. That makes...goodness, I have to count them...five in that universe. And it's the last one, at the moment, and likely to be the last for a while while I novel for the next several months. At the least.

Thanks! It is a nice sale! I'm still very bouncy over it. I went all day yesterday at work thinking, "This little annoyance can't bother me. I just sold a story to RoF. And I qualify for SFWA!" :)

Well, the novel I'm working on is Radchaai stuff--I haven't done any planning for a fantasy novel. This universe is kind of accidental--I worked it up for a submission to Blood and Devotion, which was rejected, but later I'd have a fantasy idea and think, "Oh, I can slot it in there, just develop that territory better..." and so I kept getting more stories set there. I'm feeling like I've mined the available territory, but that may just be that I need a rest from it for a while.

Congrats! That's a BIG achievement! Takes a lot of the pressure off, must feel good.

I don't even want to think about that three-sale milestone myself, this one has been years in the making. I'll just enjoy it for a bit. And by the same token, I won't ask what's next on your list. :)

Hah, I don't blame you. I kept trying not to think about it, while at the same time, of course, having it as a goalpost. That first one feels awfully nice, though, so sit back and savor it! :)

Unfortunately, the next automatic goal is one that seems about ten times as distant from me as three SFWA sales did, when I was starting. But I'm just going to have to take it the same way--plug away at the writing and see what happens.
